What’s the difference between laminate and vinyl?

Laminate is more rigid and offers excellent scratch resistance, while vinyl plank is 100% waterproof and better suited to areas with frequent or standing moisture. Our laminate is water‑resistant for up to 300 hours (approximately 12 days) under standard household conditions when properly installed and maintained.

What’s the main difference between your flooring and Flooret?

All of our floors are premium quality—we don’t offer multiple product tiers. Flooret provides a range of options, including entry-level lines with basic/value specs, as well as higher-priced premium selections.

Is a flush stair nosing available?

Yes. Visit our accessories page to order them with your flooring purchase.

Can I add an underlayment?

Yes. Evolved Elements Collection does not include an attached pad. Use a high-quality underlayment up to 3 mm thick, and always install a 6-mil vapor barrier over concrete.

Can I install over existing tile?

Yes. You can install over one layer of existing resilient tile, sheet vinyl, or ceramic tile, provided it’s securely attached to the structural subfloor. Grout lines must be filled with a cementitious leveling compound to ensure a flat surface.

Can I install cabinets on top of the flooring?

No. Do not install cabinets or fixed objects directly on top of the flooring. We recommend installing cabinets and islands first, then running the flooring to the toe kicks while maintaining the required expansion gap.

How many unique planks are included?

All Mcmillan Floors include 10 unique grain plank variations for floors with low color variation, and up to 12 variations for floors with greater color variation. This matters because enough plank variation is essential to creating a realistic wood look. At least 8 to 10 unique visuals are typically needed to avoid obvious repetition, while additional hue variation adds depth and interest without disrupting the overall design.

Is it greenguard certified?

Yes. This product is GREENGUARD Certified, meaning it has been independently tested to meet some of the world’s most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards. It helps reduce indoor air pollution by limiting over 10,000 volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Does it come with a full-piece stair tread and riser package?

No, we do not offer a full-piece stair tread and riser package with this collection. However, you can explore 3rd party custom options from specialty stair suppliers, including requests for stain matching to complement our floors seamlessly.

The Embossed-in-Register (EIR) texture gives the floor a realistic wood feel. The float installation method also supports a clean, efficient installation.

Comfort, Sound Support, and Certifications

Burgess includes an attached 3 mm antibacterial underlayment for comfort, cushioning, and sound support. Its IIC 66 and STC 68 ratings help reduce everyday indoor noise.

This flooring is pet friendly and compatible with radiant underfloor heating up to 85°F. It also meets FloorScore and GREENGUARD Gold standards for low VOC emissions.
